AROUND Honeys green

caravan park

Honeys Green is a small, friendly, rural and very pretty site on the edge of a farm with level hardstanding pitches backed by tall trees. From 2012 the park will be open year round.

Day ticket course fishing is available on our own stunning lake which has 15 swims and is well stocked with common and mirror carp, Rudd, Tench and perch etc. This is a short walk from the caravan park across one of our fields.

There is an area in an adjacent field for family games and tent bookings requiring grass pitches and there are many pretty walks nearby, dogs are welcome if kept on a lead.

Access to the road is good to a sheltered level area.

Small rallies and groups are welcome.

We have a total of 22 Tourer / Motorhome / Tent pitches all with hook-up facilities, (18 Hard standing) and adjacent drinking water taps.

We have 6 comfortable static caravans for hire ranging from a wide 4 berth caravan to 3 bedroom 7 berth caravan and these have full kitchen equipment and colour televisions. We also have one ‘winter’ caravan for off season guests.

The site has Male & Female Toilets & Showers and has a washing machines, we also have outside drying facilities.

B-B-Q’s are allowed as long as they are raised off the grass level.

There is an excellent pub that serves good affordable food within walking distance. Basic grocery items can be bought locally from the neighbouring village of East Hoathly.

The town of Uckfield is about 3 miles away, with its variety of shops, banks and supermarkets. There is also a cinema and an indoor swimming pool at the Leisure Centre.

Honeys Green is a good centre for exploring Sussex and parts of Kent and Surrey which are rich in fascinating historical buildings, gardens, museums, vineyards, wild-life parks and other animal attractions are all to be found within comfortable driving distance.

SHEFFIELD PARK & GARDEN

Acres of landscape garden bordered by historic parkland and woodland

The garden is a horticultural work of art formed through centuries of landscape design, with influences of 'Capability' Brown and Humphry Repton. Four lakes form the heart of the garden, with paths circulating through the glades and wooded areas surrounding them. Each owner has left their impression, which can still be seen today in the layout of the lakes, the construction of Pulham Falls, the planting of Palm Walk and the many different tree and shrub species from around the world.

Our historic parkland forms a larger footprint for the Sheffield Park estate. Dating back several centuries, it has had many uses including a deer park and WWII camp, and is now grazed with livestock and home to our natural woodland play trail in Ringwood Toll. The River Ouse runs across the bottom of the parkland and the original meanders are still visible winding across the meadow. This area has been transformed into a wildlife haven and is home to a diverse range of species including kingfishers, birds of prey, butterflies, and dragonflies.

Bentley Wildfowl & Motor Museum

Bentley Wildfowl and Motor Museum has a range of activity and worksheets available for children. Their Education Room has information about the wildfowl and there is a woodland trail to follow with information boards about the trees, wildlife and ancient buildings.

As well as the birds on the reserve we also have rabbits, Kune Kune pigs and lambs in the spring.

Whether you want to play in the willow explore the play area, ride on the train or play hide and seek in the woods, whatever the weather there is always something fun to do and families are welcome to picnic on the picnic tables near the play area.

Brighton Beach & Seafront

With the famous Brighton Palace Pier as a backdrop, daytime traditional seaside fun mixes seamlessly with night time funky beachside club culture.

Things to Do on Brighton Beach

If you’re feeling active then there are lots of sports to try on Brighton beach from watersports such as kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding to classic beach sports such as volleyball and Frisbee. It’s not just about the water as the beachfront promenade is a destination in its own right! The arches along the beachfront are home to a variety of businesses. By Brighton Palace Pier you’ll find great galleries in the Artists’ Quarter. As you stroll along you see more bars and restaurants serving everything from ice-cream to high end seafood.

BLUEBELL RAILWAY

A steam train ride on the Bluebell is one of the top things to do with kids on holiday for a day out in Sussex (the line crosses the border between East Sussex and West Sussex, and is not far from Surrey). This heritage railway is close to Haywards Heath, Gatwick Airport, Uckfield, Brighton and Lewes, in the Ashdown Forest/Mid Sussex area of England. Your children will love to take our vintage steam rail trip during your vacation.
